725. Ford Model: Focus. Posted February 9, 2010. Not to mention the fact that the 1.8 TDCi diesel has more or less the best turbo available on it. Many folk have tried out other turbo chargers and the consensus is that the stock is by far the best. Remap is a far better idea, but you'll need to declare it. Quote.
The outside temperature was 5c, so hardly a warm day. The traffic moved a foot or two every 30 seconds and I was stuck in it for around half an hour. I looked at my dashboard and saw the temperature needle was past half way and just under the overheat area. This is the first time it’s done this. I’m aware of the hose issues with the Ford Model: Fiesta Ecoboost 1.0 100 since 2015 on the Focus, up till now not a single turbo failure issues though the turbo wasn't working at all and it felt
Team work !! I've not had much to do with the 2.0, but have tested and failed the actuator vacuum solenoid on a couple occasions. The 1.0 suffers with P132B and tends to be a failed one way valve in the vac pump, but I'm unsure (without looking) if the 2.0 has a similar vac' layout or not.
She has experienced an intermittent problem where she has experienced a loss of power (turbo not working)and car goes into "limp" mode. A warning light appears with a sign indicating "engine needing service" If she stops and leaves the car for about an hour the car returns to normal operation. It is typically set on late model Ford vehicles. Some issues that may cause the code to appear include a defective crankcase pressure sensor, electrical issues, and a defective PCV valve. Symptoms to look out for include poor fuel economy, gasket leaks, and an illuminated check engine light.
The 3 cylinder ecoboost is a modern, lightweight and compact engine, it is well designed and if properly serviced should last for years, there is no reason it should "give up the ghost" and "it isnt big enough to support the amount of power it uses" does not really mean anything - otherwise stock 1.0L ecoboost engines have been mapped to 150Hp, with no immediate problems
