For the past year I've had an odd start problem. When the car is left overnight and the fuel level is below 60% then when I turn on the ignition, the engine starts but immediately dies. It runs for maybe a 1/4 of a second. It then takes a lot of cranking to then get it to start.

After a few miles get on these engines the starters get tierd with use. They don't spin the engine over fast enough to start when warm/hot.

The amber symbol described in the user manual as, “Exhaust gas warning lamp” is on all the time and each time the ignition is turned on “Emissions Garage!” is displayed for a few seconds. The car seems to be running normally.

pls help . I have a golf 4 1.9 tdi year 1999 automatic and have a problem with gearbox . It goes into 1st and 2nd gear fine, but for 3rd, 4th gears sometimes doesn’t change and when change the car shakes. I’ve changed the oil transmission and also the filter but no change.
