I changed the oil recently, using a generic 75w90 oil from the motor factors. Their book stated this was fine. I wasn't overly satisfied with the gear change feel, it didn't feel much better. I would never advise mixing oil types or brands.. and buy the best oil you can afford as the robust nature of the 1.9d relies on regular oil and filter changes as well as a good engine flush once a year.
